The Historical Museum of Southern Florida tells the stories of South Florida and the Caribbean. The museum promotes understanding of the past in order to inform the present and create a better quality of life.
The Historical Museum is one of the largest private, regional history museums in the country, recognized for excellence in programming and management by the Florida Department of State and national museum services organizations.

Tropical Dreams: A People’s History of South Florida
Tropical Dreams explores South Florida history through five periods: First Arrivals, International Rivalry, Southward, Expansion, New People - New Technology and Gateway of the Americas.
The history of South Florida is the story of humans in a unique environment. 
It began more than 10,000 years ago with the arrival of prehistoric Indians and continues to the multi-cultural metropolis of today.
