Museum of the American West
Los Angeles
Formerly known as the Autry Museum of Western Heritage, the Museum of the
American West examines the interwoven histories, cultures, and mythologies
of the American West and its diverse peoples.
The Autry National Center explores the experiences and perceptions of
the diverse peoples of the American West, connecting the past with the
present to inform our shared future. In less than 20 years, this collection
has grown to encompass a broad and inclusive representation of art and
artifacts from the American West, including a renowned collection of ranch
life and cowboy culture.
