George Eastman House
George Eastman House, an independent nonprofit museum, is an educational
institution that tells the story of photography and motion pictures—media
that have changed and continue to change our perception of the world
As the world’s preeminent museum of photography, Eastman House cares
for and interprets hundreds of thousands of photographs encompassing the
full history of this medium.
Eastman House is also one of the oldest film archives in the United
States.
The photography collection includes more than 400,000 photographs and
negatives dating from the invention of photography to the present day.
The Motion Picture Collection, one of the major moving image archives
in the United States, was begun in 1949 by the first curator of film, James
Card (1915-2000).

Tuesday – Saturday 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.
Thursday evenings until 8 p.m.
Sunday 1 – 5 p.m.
Mondays, Thanksgiving and Christmas Closed
